The two-day workshop on ETS was held in Sarajevo
On March 5 and 6, 2024 the two-day workshop on EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) implementation was held in Sarajevo. The event was jointly organised by “EU4Energy – Support of the European Union to the Energy Sector in BiH” and ‘’TRATOLOW – Transition towards low emissions’’ under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina and with the support of TAIEX.
The main objective of this two-day workshop was to support the relevant stakeholders in Bosnia and Herzegovina in their preparations for implementation of ETS by providing targeted capacity building. The capacity building has provided an understanding of the regulations and compliance requirements associated with the EU ETS as well as CBAM, with specific information on MRV requirements. Moreover, the participants have received further technical insights in specific building blocks of an ETS. The participants also had the opportunity to discuss the best practices for navigating the EU ETS compliance process.
The participants of the two-day workshop have included a wide range of stakeholders: government, operators from industry in Bosnia and Herzegovina, supporting agencies to the Ministries, the accreditation body and future verification bodies, academia, regional development agencies, etc.
