Minister Lakic with the EU4Energy project team: Energy transition, the path to the EU

Federal Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Vedran Lakic met with the team of the project “EU4Energy – Support of the European Union to the energy sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, which is managed by the EU Delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry announced that the topics of the meeting were activities related to the development of the concept of a just transition strategy in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the approach to the development of the strategy, as well as the plan of short-term and operational activities, as well as communication in this area.

Creating this strategy is one of the priority tasks facing our country in the process of creating a framework that will enable a sustainable energy transition. By working together with the EU4Energy project, we want to contribute to a fair transition of the energy sector and fulfill BiH’s obligations towards the Energy Community and other international obligations – said Minister Lakic.

The goal of the EU4Energy project, which officially began in BiH in September of last year, is to ensure access to reliable, affordable, sustainable and modern energy for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to establish a sustainable and competitive energy sector in accordance with demanding environmental and climate requirements, and thus improve the overall economy as well, it was announced from the Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry.
